The Technicolors Austin Concert reviews
C. O. Jul 02, 2026Gogol bordello is pure energy-packed awesomeness!!
One of the sweet live bands was Cake, and The Technicolors were the support for them back in '06 at The Warfield. They stole the show that night by rocking the house, and it was the most pleasant surprise ever. So when they came back to the bay at the solid venue, the Fox, there was no way I'd miss them.
The band strolled out on stage to a rather melancholy tune playing behind them and immediately started rocking out. Russian gypsy punk rock is the greatest party in town, and for about an hour and a half, I was jumping around in the pit to a mixture of Spanish, Russian, Hebrew, English words that sent the crowd into an uproar.
The crew had not one, not two, but three encores, the final of which was introduced by the grateful frontman's words "one more dance...one more song..." I love this band out of the box. They are so different and highly recommend.Recently performed in Austin
